We developed the initial photofoundation idea through Miura as part of our continued responsibility to social entrepreneurship. photofoundation has now been spun out of Miura as a separate entity.

Nesta is the UK’s innovation foundation. We help people and organisations bring great ideas to life. We do this by providing investments and grants and mobilising research, networks and skills. We are an independent charity and our work is enabled by an endowment from the National Lottery.

Photofoundation has been selected to receive financial support from the Innovation in Giving Fund, managed by Nesta and funded by the Cabinet Office.

On March 31st 2011, Orange announced the launch of the UK’s first mobile volunteering initiative, to harness the power of mobile technology to transform the way people give time to good causes. The ‘Do Some Good’ app allows convenient, bite-size volunteering through a mobile phone, enabling users to do a good deed at a time and place that suits their lifestyle – all in less than five minutes.

Orange has created these different charity actions in collaboration with the 12 charities to give them reach into potentially millions of people’s pockets.
